Pro Experience + Pro Equipment = Pro Results

While quality photography is more a result of the photographer than the equipment, there are several gear-related elements to consider when choosing someone to capture your wedding.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PROFESSIONAL EQUIPMENT

While amazing photos can be taken with any type of camera, professional-grade equipment IS better. Image quality, color, resolution, focusing accuracy and speed, and other factors continue to improve as new camera, lens, and lighting hardware is developed. While the equipment itself doesn't create amazing photography, top-of-the-line gear definitely helps!

- At ACT ONE Photos, we use professional-grade equipment and have the knowledge, experience, and skill to optimize execution of our technical and artistic vision!

BACKUPS AND REDUNDANCY

Before camera malfunctions strike, be sure your photographer has backup equipment. If your photographer's camera goes down, will you have to hold the wedding until they can make a run to Best Buy?

- We have three, professional-grade camera bodies and a selection of nine versatile lenses so we can keep running even if we experience technical difficulties.

Professionals (should) always use cameras with dual memory card slots. Though it is a rare occurrence, memory cards can be faulty and fail, corrupting and losing most or all of the photos recorded. Using cameras that constantly write to two memory cards reduces the potential for catastrophic loss. Any professional photographer who uses an older or lower-end camera with only a single memory card is taking a substantial risk.

- All of our cameras (and the cameras of our second photographers) have dual memory card slots.

EASE OF USE

As technology continues advancing, it helps to stay on top of the curve. Functionality, reliability, and convenience has made great leaps in the past several years.

- We've transitioned to fully-wireless, self-contained lighting which has streamlined our set-up process and increased our ability to take photos quickly. We can make easy, on-the-fly adjustments so we're not unnecessarily burning time on a day when every minute counts!

THE TAKEAWAYS

We're not recommending that you choose a photographer based solely on the equipment that they use. Expensive gear doesn't guarantee amazing images. However, you should be aware of the factors that can affect the quality of your photos and experience on your wedding day.

Be sure to ask your photographer if they have professional-grade backup equipment and if their cameras have dual memory card slots. At ACT ONE Photos, we don't take unnecessary chances with your wedding-day memories and neither should you!
